Here's what we do

The Furnace recording experience PDF Print E-mail

When we decided that we were fed up working with UK Recording studios who have to charge a small fortune due to property and rental prices being so high (and council tax, rates, bills etc), we started looking for an alternative to offer. UK standards, without the UK price tag. This is how The Furnace came about.

When it comes to recording you have a lot of options to choose from with us and we want to do what is best for your sound. We want the recording environment to be relaxed and you to feel comfortable in the Studio because we know that’s when you will work the best and we will get to see you giving a great performance. And in the end we will end up with a recording that we are all proud to have been a part of.

If you click on the “rates” tab at the top of the page you can see more about what we have to offer you including Digital and Analogue recording as well as Mastering.

As you will read a few times across this site, each project is different and we tailor the package to what suits you.

If you want to come and rehearse for a week before you start recording, that’s fine. If you want to have a rehearsal break in the middle of a 2 week session so you can come back to it with “fresh ears”, that’s fine. If you want to work no stop for 4 days and mix and master long distance, again, that is fine. We’ll work to your timescales, budget and preferences.

For us it’s not all about cold hard cash. If it was, we wouldn’t be here and we wouldn’t have people keep coming back. We are passionate about music and sound.

Explore the equipment, recording options and accommodation to see what you think. If you don’t decide to record at The Furnace, tell us why! We want to make a haven for creativity here and we need the input of creative people if there is something missing. We think it’s pretty great already and everyone who comes agrees!
