The Furnace is designed to give your recording the best possible sound capturing the feel of your music without the need for digital trickery. Having the option to use digital technology where appropriate is better than having to correct the sound of a poorly designed studio room. We have designed each room in the residential studio to give a specific feel.

The control room has be acoustically treated to give a “true” playback through the control room monitors so that you can hear the raw sound without the echo or frequency interference you get from untreated rooms. From the control room there is a clear line of sight into the 3 studio recording rooms.

Of course we have the large live room which is perfect for drums, acoustic instruments and bands who wants to get a live performance with all of its energy and brightness onto record.

We have a slightly smaller live room with a tighter sound which is great for overdriven guitars and brass instruments and tight harmony vocals and then there is the dedicated vocal booth which has the option of mood lighting and a curtain so you can be isolated from the control room and get fully in the zone.

The building materials used in the studio have excellent therma properties as well as sound properties which helps keep the rooms cool in the summer and warm in the winter without the use of air conditioning. Why no air-con? Because it wrecks singers vocal chords.

We have built the studio to give us flexibility. Each project is different and the rooms you use for each instrument will vary depending on what sound you want. We aren’t set in our

ways; we will cater your recording to your music and to what YOU want.

And the best thing about our resi studio is that it’s an affordable recording studio.
